SUAVEART concentrates on the cultural value between art and life. Presenting the stories and issues related to “art, life and island”. Creating the borderless dialogues that can be found everywhere in our daily life.

SUAVEART, a research-based curatorial institution, focuses on environmental, nonhuman perspectives, and nonplace issues within island contexts, exploring the intersection of art and life. Since 2008, our focus has been on Southeast Asian regional contemporary art. Established in Taiwan in 2015, we facilitate experimental cultural exchanges and interdisciplinary collaborations. The curated project footprints are among Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Germany, Switzerland, and others.

Project Introduction

Invisible Trajectories is a program explores how migrant histories have shaped contemporary cityscapes and reconnects historical and personal archives with modern discourse. Highlighting cities like Zurich and London, it documents personal experience on migration through historical research and interviews, the project reinterprets stories using workshops, urban walks, salons, and exhibitions. Spaces like Schubertstrasse in Zurich, Switzerland will turn into Artist Residency and exhibition site, to explore and experiment with artistic methods of portraying the diasporic narratives that shape the cityscapes. Collaborating with artists and residents, the project activates dormant spaces for cross-generational exchanges, and captures the essence of living history through photography, recordings, and everyday objects, touring cities to reflect on migration’s impact and envision inclusive urban futures. After the program in Zurich, we are excited to exhibit our works to our next destination — London!
